Whenever One of us Gets Enlightened, God Meets God | Steve Beckow

I’m going to be giving an interview to an afterlife group in the near future and one of the things I’ll be discussing is the purpose of life.

As you know, I was given a vision in 1987 of the entire journey of a soul from God to God, through countless lifetimes. (1)

And, when the vision experience was over, I heard a voice in my mind say: “The purpose of life is enlightenment” and the vision vanished, leaving me behind the wheel of a car again.

And it occurs to me that we never really discussed in any detail why the purpose of life would be enlightenment.

Let me do that here.

Just think a moment about enlightenment. What are some statements that people make when they achieve a certain level of enlightenment – say, seventh-chakra Brahmajnana or God realization? “I am God.” “God and I are One.” “I experienced my true nature and that true nature is God.”

This is by no means the return to God. But it is a realization that we are God. We find we have actually realized two things at that moment: We’ve realized what God is and we’ve realized that we are That.

While not final merger, still we experience a temporary unity with the God we realized and now know we are. The experience becomes as Bayazid of Bistun said: “O Thou I.” (2)

We can thus say that, when one of us realizes its true identity, God meets God. The God that is us meets the One God that is everything.

The classical sages – and I accepted their accounts as the final word – held that once we returned to God, we never emerged again. Current accounts from the Company of Heaven say that’s not so. We return and emerge again. (3) That’s just one of the areas where classical and current accounts diverge.

A second is in the introduction of the dimensions, replacing vague references to “the hereafter” or the “Third Heaven.”

A third is our partnership with the Mother and her archangels in the matter of our enlightenment. (4) Previously we thought enlightenment occurred because of our merit.

But now we discover that there are a lot more factors than just our effort in play, most obviously the factor of our mission. And we discover that we have a spiritual circle of advisers and directors carefully planning when we should be enlightened and to what degree.

We’ve only dipped our toes in the water in terms of experience and knowledge. In the process so many things we thought we knew are going to be shown to be “incomplete,” as Michael often diplomatically says.

You mean re-union is not the end? Apparently not.

Divine Mother: As this transition [Ascension] is completed, including the shift in your structures [after Ascension; i.e., building Nova Earth], then you will continue on.

This is the beginning, not the end. Each of you, each of you is infinite and eternal. Will the day come in terms of what you think of as time, when [after being re-absorbed] you will simply re-emerge? Yes. But even that is an instant. An instant in her time. Well, I was knocked over to see prevailing theories of a definite and finite end discarded! I questioned her on it:

Steve: Now, Mother, you’ve just referred to you bringing them back. You’ve just referred to mergence have you not, or union? And you’re saying that after they return in union, they go back out into the world. Is that correct?

Divine Mother: Yes. If they so choose, yes. Now, is it in the timeline that human beings tend to think of? No. But eventually there is re-emergence. (“The Divine Mother: Each and Every One of You Carries Divine Might, Part
