Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings…
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark nor ever eagle flew—
And, while with silent lifting mind I’ve trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.
~John Gillespie Magee, Jr., High Flight
I was chatting with my neighbor yesterday and I kept trying to figure out what was different about him. Thinking about it later, I realized: his face was relaxed and open in a way I’ve never noticed before.
It must be because he got his heart’s desire. He finished his pilot’s training and passed all tests so he could become a certified instructor. Now he’s teaching at the local flight school, which has been his goal for a couple of years.
So that’s what happiness looks like. When he smiled before, there was always a faint cynicism to it. As if he were operating under a perpetual state of, “Yeah, right.“ It seems that’s a smile he can retire, now.
There’s an extra bounce to his step. He’s wearing his snazzy all-black instructor’s uniform with pride and confidence. From whatever perspective I view this, it is a happy outcome. He’s probably not thinking in spiritual or metaphysical terms; I don’t believe he’s clued up about the reality of Ascension and the crumbling of the regime that has oppressed us.
Despite that, I’m tagging him on my mental radar as someone who’s likely going along for the Ascension ride. He’s found his own heaven on Earth, or in his case, heaven in the skies. He’s already on his way.

I often wonder how we humans of the Earth are ever going to set things right. How we will undo the damage we have, often unwittingly, perpetrated upon our planet, upon the animals and the ecosystems, and upon each other.
It seems an insurmountable task. But perhaps I’m looking at it, inescapably so, from a heavy 3D perspective of lack, oppression, and fear.
If lack, oppression, and fear vanish, and we are left with the glimmering golden mist that helps raise us higher in the dimensions, perhaps that daunting mountain will become the proverbial molehill.
Because our base of operation, our emotional selves, our physical bodies, will have ratcheted up on the one-way escalator I believe we’re traversing. It’ll be the equivalent of my neighbor achieving his dream, only on a massive scale and through multiple layers of our realities, our energy bodies, our belief systems.
*****
So much about the ability to achieve depends upon attitude. Attitude can be influenced by self-talk, the application of willpower, direct instruction to the subconscious via self-hypnosis / hypnosis, and other prosaic methods.
What if a sparkling, loving, positive and upbeat attitude is gifted to us? What if there is no special effort, no endless repetition of mantras or affirmations required?
What if we are simply immersed in happiness, floating on thermals of love?

Now, whenever I think of my neighbor, I smile involuntarily. I imagine him in his snappy black uniform with his name embroidered in gold on the pocket, authoritatively yet patiently unreeling the gift of knowledge, the gift of flight, to his students.
I don’t know how quickly the gifts many of us are expecting will arrive. Teleportation, free antigravity, access to multidimensional and multi-spacial portals, starships that respond to our thoughts and require no instruments other than our desire to reach a certain destination.
At this moment, the tiny two-seater planes that buzz the skies above my house, taking off and landing from the nearby airport, are the closest to antigravity transport most of us can experience.
When the future gifts arrive to our present, perhaps there will still be a place for these quaint toylike planes, and helicopters and jets. They could become functional curiosities like the 1880s-vintage cable cars in San Francisco, which still transport commuters as well as hordes of tourists every day.
So often we think in terms of everything on the New Earth being completely different, non-third dimensional, all new ways of doing things, and different, better material objects.
Perhaps there will be room, though, for anachronisms. As anyone who owns a well-loved sock monkey sewn by mom or grandma can tell you, newer is not always better.
