God said:

“Before you there was just Me, before the earth and all the planets and star systems and galaxies and universes there was just Me and only Me. I needed to create. I needed to split apart and individuate so I could know Myself and see Myself and see all the wonders of creation. You are all ME! You are all creator beings just like Me.” (1)

In what way are we all the Mother/Father God? I could name you several metaphors, but none of them cause recognition or realization.

We are a drop of water; God is the Ocean. We are a firebrand plucked from the burning. We are the light always burning on the altar of the Lord, the altar of the heart.

I’ve seen that light always burning on the altar of the heart. (2) It really does exist and it really is to be found in the the deepest reach of the heart, the Seat of the Soul.

Is that the way that we are like God – we’re light of God’s Light?

No, we cannot be only a part, it seems to me. We must be the All if God is the All. But no metaphor seems to extend far enough or have the emotional impact to bring on knowing at that level of realization.

When we leave the unknown, we’re no better off. For the most part, we don’t see, recognize or realize that which we don’t know, have not experienced, have no concept of, etc.

When I saw the Light of the Self at Xenia Retreat Center Sept. 18, 2018, the Light itself was toned down. (3) But what wasn’t toned down were the feelings of innocence and purity I felt in its presence.

If I had not had that experience, and you suggested to me, “feel innocent,” I wouldn’t have had the slightest clue how to do what you request.

But now that I’ve had the experience of it, I know immediately what you’re referring to and lapse into that quality of innocence again easily. It’s simple once we know that space.

How many people have had an experience of exaltation? Imagine exaltation. Speak from exaltation.

Nada, right? If we haven’t had the experience, it’s hard to imagine.

So we’re caught in a spiritual trap. We can’t imagine what we don’t know or haven’t experienced. But we’ll never experience the novel and unknown so long as we stay within the bounds of the known. We may not find out how we are God by looking from inside this loop.

I think that’s why St. John of the Cross said we must proceed “without a foothold.” (4) We simply have to let go – let go of any idea that we know how to proceed, what to do, where to go. There’s no comfort for the mind here. Our hearts must make a leap of faith:

“no face nor form,
alone – tasting there something I dont know
that one may come on randomly.”

Both Ramana and Bernadette Roberts tell us that our efforts can only take us so far:

Ramana: Your efforts can extend only thus far. Then the Beyond will take care of itself. You are helpless there. No effort can reach it. (5)

Bernadette: At a certain point, when we have done all we can [to bring about an abiding union with the divine], the divine steps in and takes over. (6)

Since I know that the Mother and our archangels are in charge of our enlightenment, something that not many classical sages knew, I can appreciate what Michael says here, that:

“Your job is to surrender, let go. Our job is to lift you up.” (7)

I get it. My job is to surrender – “no face nor form, alone.” The Mother whom we all serve will do the rest.

I don’t need to know how, to surrender.

(3) Steve: The experience at Xenia, Mother, was that truncated?

Divine Mother: Slightly, yes.

Steve: I had the thought [it was]. … The Light I saw should have been brighter than a thousand suns. The fact that it wasn’t suggests to me that the experience was truncated. …

DM: It was not is brilliant as possible, let us put it that way.

Steve: Alright… And again, the reason is to keep me in sync with my readers?

DM: To keep you in sync with your readers. But let me be very clear…. If you had seen the light as it actually is – yes, a million, billion suns – you would have simply departed. …

We don’t mean die but you would have departed the life that you have designed – yes, with us – for yourself, for the service you are providing – you would have departed and simply said, ‘I do not need to do this.
