Note from Natalie: A poem by Rudyard Kipling talks about keeping your head when all about you are losing theirs.

These days it can seem like the world is crumbling and it can feel hard to keep your head on straight. In the message below, Dr. Peebles is reminding us of the importance of our pillars in life—those things that so center us that when one is missing we truly feel off-kilter. When we get caught up in the rush of the world and don’t take time to meditate, or exercise, or play, our individual world can feel uncertain. We have all heard that the only person you can change is yourself, so let’s be sure that we are being kind and gentle and loving with ourselves, and that love will spread out to those who need it most.

So much love to all of you!

From Dr. Peebles:

We encourage you to spend a little time asking yourselves, “What are my pillars? If I were the last person on a deserted island, what are the things I would still do, because I simply love to do them?” Some people would need to create art, others would sing songs all day and others would prune the plants and garden.

Many may find that meditation, spending time in nature, accessing or creating art, communicating, connecting with friends, moving the body in dance or some form of play, or simply sitting and experiencing the divine, are among the pillars that support them. You will know that you are connecting with your pillars because they have nothing to do with money, with your job or another person.

The more the ego, the inner child tries to fill in a void, tries to get you “back on track” when you have never been off track (it is not possible), the more it is spinning its wheels. The energy you are is constantly leading your life anyway, so we ask you to trust that you are always on the right path. Your work is to create less and less resistance by the mind and that takes a little practice. The more you trust that the heart already knows the answer, the more you can lean in and surrender to it a little bit.

We want for you to be gentle and loving with yourselves. The mind, inner child, ego is learning to let go, to surrender to the higher-self part of you. This is a process. The part of you that only knows what it looks like to stay small is pleading with you to hold onto the shoes that no longer fit. Sometimes it may feel very scary as you are shifting and being asked to leap into different experiences of expansion. So we ask you to consider, meditate upon, what your pillars are and assure that they are part of your everyday life.
