My Higher Self
I can hear the wind,
I can feel the rain...
I can dive deep into your love
That lives within me.
I can remember home every time we speak
And I always laugh when you say things I was just thinking about, asking: "how did you know ?"
There have been so many nights of questions,
For months and months
I wouldn't know whether I am asleep or awake
Dreaming but knowing
Dreaming but aware
And so many nights where I wouldn't remember.
So many nights where we have been together
With no memories of ever being apart...
If I ever deeply desired to touch you,
So I can feel your love,
If I ever longed to hold you in my arms
So I can share my love with you,
I now know
That none of it is necessary any longer.
Maybe we would laugh together at one of your jokes
Or some of your tricks you always carry up your sleeve
And then your laugh and your love would resound like millions of butterflies
Touching my ears
Leaving no trace, only light
A soft breeze,
And my heart
Would keep beating and beating
Racing and racing amongst the wild, beautiful stars of the night sky...
