I think it amazing the amount and depth of clearing that’s happening – for me right now – I assume it’s general. I’m usually a weather vane.
Things 20-30 years old are coming up, with force. The only thing I can do when a sleeping volcano erupts is to make it short and hopefully scream into my pillow, so to speak.
It’s called upon me to juggle a lot because my life is more complicated than it was twenty-thirty years ago. Let’s see. I can have my upset between 7-8 AM. Then I need to shower, eat, and get down to work.
I find myself bereft of suggestions when an upset is really big. (1) Go off by yourself and be with it. Surrender to whatever it requires of you short of harming anyone. Or even bothering them. Scream in your parked car.
Whatever works. Having sought any healthy way through my own storm myself, I don’t consider there’s one magic or right way.
Virginia Satir recommended therapists have at least three ways to get through any situation that arises. One and, when the therapist got stuck, there’s no way out. Two, and the mind makes one right and the other wrong so there’s still no way out. Three and the mind falls silent.
So, if she’s recommending having at least three therapeutic approaches I’m recommending having as many as you can master. This is one area where I think being a maestro – borrowing the skills of an orchestra leader, an impresario, a mediator – would work miracles in relationship.
And that may turn out to be the chief requirement of me as a CEO. To be a successful orchestra leader….
Isn’t that an interesting thought….
