Listen to the Intuition

I wrote the following for the 311th issue of the Weekly Awareness Guide, a written document distributed weekly via email that I offer for $11.11 a month.

Income from the guide helps me get by and ensures I can continue to offer free content, and every subscription is appreciated.

You can find the option to subscribe at the bottom of this post (learn about subscribing with cash/check here).

If there’s one thing about spirituality I can be sure of, it’s the intuition – the voice within that guides you and helps you make the best possible choices in life.

For those who look at life in a less metaphysical and more scientific way; it could just as easily be a psychological mechanism we use to guide ourselves onto the right path.

This is one possible explanation for what in my experience is a very real thing.

I couldn’t say what exactly it is, and the word “voice” is inaccurate. It’s more of an inner knowing or a nudge to the right thought, expression, or action for that moment.

Many who follow their intuition say that it feels like they have an internal guardian angel helping them through even the most mundane parts of their lives.

Choices that are seemingly insignificant yet difficult to make are made easier when you let go and listen to your intuition. There’s no limit to the wisdom you can receive if you’re open to it.

I’m not the first person to suggest the intuition is real and encourage people to be open to it, and I certainly won’t be the last. My experiences with it are difficult to describe, but they’ve certainly never been negative.

It often guides me to the best choice and best possible outcome, solidifying my faith in this unseen force.

Beliefs regarding the intuition have been around for centuries. Some of the passages we read in this guide, many of which have been about the intuition, are hundreds of years old.

This is not a new phenomenon, and with how popular it is right now, it will be around for a while.

Maybe it’s not so crazy to believe in that gut feeling so many people get. Maybe the reason the intuition and all the beliefs that spring from it are so popular is because people are experiencing it for themselves.

Although it still has its problems, western society is more liberated today than it was a hundred years ago. Most of us are accepting that there are many kinds of people in this world and welcoming them with open arms, while some are begrudgingly holding onto the past.

Today, believing in the intuition does not have to make you a crazy person. You don’t have to go off in the woods and meditate for months on end or really do anything at all.

You can simply acknowledge and be aware of this force as it tries to get your attention and help you see the light.

Most people don’t connect with their intuition because they never engage it in the first place. They occasionally go with their gut feeling but never look any deeper.

Below the surface lives this real guiding force that can change your life if you learn to listen.
