Where true Love burns Desire is Love’s pure flame;
It is the reflex of our earthly frame,
That takes its meaning from the nobler part,
And but translates the language of the heart.
~Samuel Taylor Coleridge, Desire
Inevitably, when the magic of the Fall season rolls around, my longing for a better life pushes up from its uneasy grave of interred hopes and dreams, waving skeletal fingers and whispering, remember me?
My want list focuses on the personal, but I’m finding that it’s inextricably intertwined with the global. My prayer for “things that must improve” includes “this or something better” for all of us.

For years, Red October has been a tantalizing and frustrating theme in the alternative/truther community. “Reliable sources” claim that this year, it will finally be the Red October. A time when undeniable, life-changing truths will be reported in the very media from which the unawake populace gobbles their daily pablum of ersatz truth.
While my “I want” list is tailored to me, the basics are universal. Radiant health and well-being. An exquisitely appointed, mortgage-free home, in a safe, supportive, and beautiful community. Unassailable financial security.
I wouldn’t be unreservedly happy if others subsist in squalor or lack, nor do I think most goodhearted, well-meaning people would be. Surely the pursuit of happiness means the fulfillment of the “I want” list for every human on the planet.
Which brings us back to Red October. If what’s happening in Israel is, as some say, a marker for the beginning of the end for the cabal, then the wherewithal to fulfill universal wish lists can’t be terribly far behind.

The two cats move with the sun as it retreats across the floor. They seem to be content with so little: adequate food and water, a roof over their heads, a patch of carpet in the sun, some fluffy towels for a bed.
I believe they have “I want” lists, too. Safe access to the great outdoors, without danger from predators or aggressive neighborhood cats. Freedom to roam and return to their comfortable home base.
Maybe I’m imposing my list on them. I want freedom to roam—even just to take day trips to Solvang or San Luis Obispo, without worrying about untoward consequences at the Goleta homestead. I want assurance that somebody’s got my back in the family-care arena, so I can freely explore this fascinating Central Coast slice of California. Granted, with med-bed age regression, care for an elderly family member should be a non-issue, but who knows when that’ll happen?
My hope is that Red October will lead to revelations, which will lead to The Event, and the Reval, and a worldwide leap into a reality where anything truly is possible—including my heart’s desire.
I’m looking forward to embracing every single thing that would generate joy and fulfillment, plus wonderful and beneficial things my imagination hasn’t yet stumbled upon. Naturally, my heart’s desire includes the same for everyone else.
It might work best to start small with this heart’s desire thing. I know! I can do my best to exemplify a fulfilling and joyful life. Which is something I can aspire to right now, with or without October turning red.
