I am My-Self | Poem by Celia Elliott
I AM MY-SELF…
I know who I am without any sham
You can take me or leave me alone,
I don’t give a fig… if you nag or you ‘dig’
Or even if pointing the bone!
I know who I am and I don’t give a dam
If the world unto me doth decry,
In poverty, wealth… I’ll just be myself
For I only need answer to I.
Do you know who you are… do you follow a star
Or live in the ground like a mole,
Do you ‘ere question why, you’re a man not a fly
Do you know you are part of the WHOLE?
Do you know where you’re going, or is your slip showing
Do you sit with your head in the sand,
Are you always there moaning, whinging and groaning
When the world needs a helping hand?
You’re also a star, when you know who you are
It will all come out right in the end,
So no cant’s and no don’ts… no doubts and no wont’s
There’s a purpose for you my friend.
Yes… we’re all in this boat and we’ll sink or we’ll float
It depends on our point of view,
We can take it or leave it, or wake up and heed it
If we want to get out of this ‘stew!’
I know who I am… do you know who you are?
You’re a star about to arise,’
You’re a rose soon to bloom, with the sweetest perfume
And a God in human disguise.
Yes…I know who I am… I’m a part of ‘The Plan,’
To my-SELF… I need only be true,
Though small, I am growing, towards the ‘All knowing’
I am part of it all … LIKE You!
