whims of the tide

heartwood beneath
tough sinew stays strong
soft tissue released
season after season,

natures reform
trade winds, gale
storm after storm
adrift long enough
all things will change
tribulation or dance
shift of fortune
timing of chance
freed from capture
washes up to a shore
the product of time
come what may
welcomed supine
character proven
tough and beautiful
a treasure recovered
aged art unveiled
as a lifetime discovered
