(Golden Age of Gaia)
How does it feel to think life has no purpose?
What is a purposeless life like?
I can only say how it was for me.
Sad. Sad that I was needing to go through all that life brought us without any of it having any meaning or purpose. Why am I doing this? Why am I here?
If nothing had a purpose, what was the point of getting up tomorrow? This is going nowhere…. Nobody cares….
Long-time readers will know that my life was interrupted one day in 1987 when I was given a vision of life’s purpose. I’ve described that vision elsewhere. (1)
Drenched in bliss, I was shown the total journey of an individual soul – from God to God. The purpose of the soul’s journey was – after giving up knowledge of its Oneness with God – to journey out into the world in ignorance and there grow in understanding until it realized (2) who it was.
With that realization, the prodigal child returned home.
All the time it was God dipped in matter (mater, Mother). Now it stands revealed, free of any materiality and desire for individuality, and is reunited with … the One.
At the end of it, the words formed in my mind: Enlightenment is the purpose of life.
***
Why is life designed this way? Why is enlightenment the purpose of life for us?
So that God could have the pleasure of meeting itself. (3)
Every time one of us individuated divine sparks realizes who it is, God meets God. And for that purpose was everything seen and unseen made.
I asked the Divine Mother if I was correct in my explanation:
Divine Mother: You are one that, because of your adherence to Truth, likes to go to the Source. That is alright. That is the way it has been designed. [My emphasis]
Steve: … What is the way it has been designed, Mother? …
I mean the Source, the One wants to know itself. Is that correct?… And it can’t because it’s everything. So it’s taken the aspect of Yourself and designed a universe in order for us to learn our true identities. The moment of Enlightenment is when God meets God. Is that correct?
Divine Mother: That is correct. … Yes, it is designed this way. (4)
The One designed a universe and beings so that God could meet God. If that is a true statement, I imagine it should resonate with you.
And what difference does knowing that purpose make?
Well, given that I am God, as is everyone else – since there cannot be a second to the One – God’s purpose for life is also my purpose. And the further up the dimensional ladder I go, the better I feel. So something here feels right.
Everything else in my life begins to fall into alignment with that knowledge. My commitment to my spiritual sadhana or practice increases. Putting a name (God) to that sub-tidal, sub-conscious attraction I feel for all things spiritual straightens me out.
Knowing where we’re headed helps me to judge whether I want to read this or that, watch this or that, or say this or that.
I can measure whether a thought or action carries me further toward reunion or farther away.
Where I swerved all over the road before, now I’m driving on the correct side now.
And I know where I’m going. I don’t mean going today, or this year, or this lifetime. I know where I’m going eternally. I can take the helm now.
Someone once said, when a person realizes that there’s life after death, that existence carries on eternally and begins to delve into the subject, their karma begins to straighten out. Before things were haphazard (you only live once; just don’t get caught) and now their thoughts and actions begin to follow spiritual principles.
I’d say that was a very good description of me before and after the vision.
Now imagine not just life after death, but life through all twelve dimensions, many universes. The One lies beyond anything material. The Absolute is even beyond the Transcendental. (5)
That’s it. Here I am shouting from the rooftops: There’s a purpose to life! Hang in there! It all works out in the final reel!
So, yes, I’d say there’s tremendous value in knowing the purpose of life.

(2) Realization is, in my view, a result of what is brought to us by knowledge, understanding, insight, and experience – with the addition of bliss, to allow us to see from a higher vantage point. That plus the cleansing of vasanas is, I think, what Michael is referring to here:
Archangel Michael: This [heart opening] occurs, not merely because you have asked for it, but because you (and this does apply to the collective) have done your, can we say, your homework, your due diligence. What we mean by this is simply, think of it in spatial reality, time and space reality: you have created the space for this [energy of love] to, not only pass by you like a passing breeze or a rain, but to anchor within you because there is a sense of this spaciousness within thee. (Archangel Michael in a personal reading with Steve Beckow through Linda Dillon, March 13, 2015.) (My emphasis.)
(3) Archangel Michael asks: “We do not want anything capitalized.” (Archangel Michael in a personal reading with Steve Beckow through Linda Dillon, Aug. 12, 2016.)
Except for “the One,” I follow that practice.

(5) The Absolute, the Source, the 13th Octave, or “Home” is beyond the Transcendental.
Here is Archangel Michael pointing to Source (the One) being beyond the transcendental:
Archangel Michael: Now we also know that deep space contains many other galaxies so keep going and keep going and keep going. Now, when you have gone through all of that, think of it as being contained in a bubble; go outside the bubble; that’s where we are.
Steve: Aah. So, transcendental space.
AAM: Yes. But, also at times the space – now we are going to really confuse you – the space in-between the spaces.
We occupy often the space between the spaces. We come from Source.
Steve: Right. Wow!
AAM: Yes, it is bigger than you think. (“Archangel Michael on the Angelic Kingdom,” June 13, 2014, at http://goldenageofgaia.com/2014/06/13/archangel-michael-on-the-angelic-kingdom/.)
