Lesson 23: Draw this image but make sure you draw it upside down
Create a grid to draw it on of 1” squares. Draw each square individually, not the whole picture at once. Make sure the image is upside down. Do not draw it right side up.
Why? What does this do?
This engages the right hemisphere, which perceives things spacially, not verbally.
The reason people draw eyes as a football shape with a circle in the middle is because they're drawing with the left hemisphere, which doesn't perceive shapes or spaces.
That's why you can't draw. You're using the wrong hemisphere.
I'm going to suggest to you that if you reacted by saying, “I can't draw!” then you are also saying, “I can't use my intuition.” Now you can learn to switch hemispheres at will by drawing and continuing to focus on art in any way you desire.
I'm not saying you need to become a master, I'm saying just make the switch. Even doodles are fine.
