Sailors on board the USS Lexington during WW2 sleep while … waiting.

One thing that’s said about war is that it’s mostly waiting. And then there’s a battle.
And the battle decides … well, not everything … but you can be sure that whatever comes next will be preceded by more waiting.
Now we’re down to weekly and daily bulletins on the Reval or the Announcements and still we wait.
The impact on out-of-town relationships is severe. I don’t want to be caught in another town when the Internet goes down and transportation is not running. On and on the impacts go; by now, we know the story.
What it’s driving up in me is every sense of entitlement I have. All the years of being a pampered consumer, a self-righteous voter, a proud citizen of an assumed-peaceful country, educated, this, that, and the other.
Instead of getting that it’s incumbent on me – it’s my part – to ensure that I’m ready to go when the signal comes, to see that I’ve prepared for it to the best of my ability, I’m grousing and groaning.
How’s it working for you? I hear Kathleen say. Yah, not.
And here’s where the reparenting comes in. No one’s going to change the script for me but me. Mommy and Daddy aren’t here any more. Big brother isn’t even here any more. I have to take myself in hand.
The mind is infinitely capable of doing that. The Self is even more capable. I’m not going to be non-dualistic about it because I’m a servant, a karma yogi, who does his work in the physical world, not a hermit monk, in splendid isolation.
***
I’m going to be dualistic and imagine my adult, my Higher Self, the Commander taking over and reparenting me out of this no-longer-wanted sense of entitlement.
Here goes.
Entitlement is based on the false assumption that some people are more worthy than others. In this case, we’ve included ourselves among the worthy and away we’ve gone with it. What results from this is inequitable sharing of resources. (1)
“You should do this for me. You should pay me deference. The world exists for me.” Me, me, me, me.
Oh my. What a mess.
Well, I know the answer. When we’re in action, there’s no time for processing a vasana or core issue. (2) We need to take an action step.
That action step is to drop the behavior pattern, the thought, whatever it is, the minute I become aware of it. Simply don’t take it a step further. Stop.
It’s a matter of self-control. This is where having healthy parents comes in, to teach us self-control and boundary management if we haven’t already learned it.
And the control is not hard. Just stop. You don’t have to put anything in its place, which should make it easy.
And then get on with your mission. True up. Return to sacred purpose.
***
It isn’t just “my mission.” It’s “the mission.” In terms of the Reval, we lightworkers are on a mission to reverse the slide of the world economy into elitism, the wellbeing of the privileged few being purchased at the expense of the many.
We’re on a mission to make of the desert a watered plain – wherever desert is found, inside and out – to restore Terra Gaia and ourselves.
We’re on a mission to prepare the injured and abused and spurned for a rise in consciousness and escape from all adverse conditions.
We – not I – are on a mission to build Nova Earth, to bring Heaven to Earth, to create a world that works for everyone.
No more waiting. Get down to preparing. You’ve gone the other route and seen that it leads to no satisfaction, no aliveness, and no love. Now go another route.
Thank you, Higher Self!
Footnotes
(1) There may be unequal sharing of resources, which may reflect that more resources need to go, say, to the disabled and infirm. I’m suggesting a division of resources which is equitable or fair, all things considered.
