When you’re down and troubled
And you need a helping hand
And nothing, nothing is going right
Close your eyes and think of me
And soon I will be there
To brighten up even your darkest night
~James Taylor, You’ve Got a Friend
When I’m down and troubled, I turn to my readings from Dr. Peebles.
People often talk about creating and co-creating reality—outwardly, for ourselves and the world—but it takes effort for me to keep in mind that any little thing can be done creatively, with curiosity and deep attention.
I’m not fond of cooking but it’s less of a throwaway task when I actually pay attention to those veggies I’m cutting up, spend a moment gazing at the water boiling with pasta, and enjoy tossing the torn lettuce leaves in the salad bowl.
It’s all about attitude. I appreciate the reminder that thought, attitude, and attention create what I experience from reality, even if it doesn’t instantly create the “actual” reality I’d prefer (those veggies won’t dice themselves tonight, no matter how intently I focus on manifesting a replicator in the kitchen).
From a recent personal reading with Dr. Peebles, channeled by Natalie Gianelli, NatalieGianelli.com.
Dr. Peebles: My dear, we are wanting to begin today’s session to remind you that your activity, your experience with the creative genius through you, is indeed an important through-line as it concerns the very thriving of your soul’s experience in the human body.
So when you are in participation with something that is creative, we want for you to acknowledge it. Sometimes you will be participating in something that is creative but you will see it as a necessity.
Let us say for instance that you are creating a meal. You’re cooking. And you might think to yourself, I am making this meal so that I have something to eat. And yet, the making of the meal itself is creative.
Sometimes when you are sitting down to write something, you are writing because it needs to be written, or you are working upon a particular project. And yet you are still expressing the creative genius through you.
So we want for you to begin to acknowledge, more and more frequently, “I am accessing my creativity right here and right now. I am engaging in the artistry through me.”
When you are acknowledging this, now you are beginning to tap in more and more to the artistry from the heart instead of from the mind. The mind is always wanting to get from A to B. But the heart is happily enjoying moment by moment by moment. Ever expanding. But never attached to where it is needing to go.
When you are letting yourself acknowledge the creative genius coming through you, without as much attachment to the outcome, then you are accessing not only what feels wonderful to you, in a playful manner of sorts, but you are also allowing for the Higher Self part of you to engage in this activity instead of fully the inner child, the mind, the ego.
