Moving from Religion to Spirituality
I think at least 90 percent of our limitations, our limiting beliefs, come from what we've picked up from our parents or caregivers for those who didn't live with parents. We picked them up from parents and churches, from different religions and from society’s conditioning. All those things made our parents the way they are. And we picked up the limiting beliefs from our parents. And we hold the judgments or beliefs until we recognize, “Oh, that's not me.” So many people here grew up in one form or other of religious family. Most people have recognized the limitations, rejected the religion, and moved more into spirituality rather than being so-called "religious," which is a set of rules and regulations which we are expected to live by.
