Thank you Steve for being a journalist.
In response to “Love has Come Calling” on June 21, 2021, I’m moved to write the following.

Can a person orchestrate Bliss?
The full moon of May 26 pulled out of me the realization that I was pushing myself way too much – to get things done. I had put myself out of balance and out of any semblance of bliss. On that day I exploded with a resounding “NO!” “Enough!” “This is NOT working!”
Without nature I die inside.
That day I vowed to go to nature to seek Bliss every week, no excuses.
And so I have. There is also an agenda to these sojourns, I cannot help myself because I am an artist who has been denying the pleasure of creation. So I am going into nature to draw and take photos and honor my need to collect inspiration.
But I am also giving time for seeking Bliss.
I play with the thought that if I didn’t have an agenda for these trips I might be more peaceful but when I am there Peace comes to me, I don’t have to “try” to be peaceful. I satisfy my desire for photographs and then I relax.
Last week the sound of the babbling stream and the sweet scent of the wild roses made me stop, close my eyes and simply take it in. Those feel like moments of Bliss and they rejuvenate me. I feel gratitude and serenity for Mother’s healing balm.
Yesterday I went to a local sacred First People’s site to watch the sunset for summer solstice. It was magical. Even with dozens of other people around, the peace, love and profundity was there. Yes, I took photos as was just about everyone else, and drew a sketch, but also simply stood, breathed, watched, and felt the awe.
Did I realize Bliss? Yes, I did. I think it is possible to set oneself up in a situation or place where Bliss can be found as long as the heart is open. I just needed to give myself time to feel connected to Mother Earth, which I’ve also found in gazing at a patch of Irises in a neighbor’s garden. Be open to recognize the moments.
Where or what do you need to do to connect with Bliss?
I hope you find it.
