(Golden Age of Gaia)
The culture I grew up in was very competitive. It’d be natural for people steeped in it to think of Ascension as a race.
But, in its design, it has none of the competitive in it. I think the metaphor of a grand waltz is more fitting, with couples swirling around each other, synchronized and coordinated.
To understand why Ascension is not competitive, we’d have to look at the bigger picture.
Every being is a soul which was birthed by the One (whom Jesus called God the Father) and sent out into the world of matter (mater, God the Mother) on a quest to learn its true identity.
Once, through lifetimes of learning, it realizes who it is, it races back to the One it knew not and always was. Jesus summarized the journey:
“I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.” (1)
He was speaking as an avatar – (2) a direct descent of the Divine into flesh – and his teaching has a number of levels. But, on one of them, he just described the sacred arc that life is.
As I said elsewhere, we’re all of us revolving around our karma, giving the arc a spiral shape. (3) So our “cluster,” as it were, is revolving around other people’s, in an elaborate dance.
We don’t have to understand it. The river of love flows by itself, carrying us with it in endless swirls and eddies.
We were born into it. It’s a given. It doesn’t need our participation to continue, but seeks it.
This river of love is the orchestra, the music, and the dance floor for the great waltz. If we could see it – and I have (4) – we’re literally suspended in it. It just isn’t apparent from this dimension. And “it isn’t happening,” as far as our Third/Fourth Dimensional consciousness is concerned. (5)
We’re suspended in an Ocean of Love, which is why the Mother calls herself MarĂ©, the Ocean. Of what? Of love:
Divine Mother: I am known by many names, and that is appropriate. And I am thought of in many forms — as Mary, as Shakti, as MarĂ©, which is very close because it is the word for ocean in your world and language. It represents the movement and the giver of life, the creator of life, of love, of form, of substance, of essence. (6)
She tells us: “my essence … is far beyond what you can imagine.” (7)
When we’re not immersed in the One, we’re cradled in the All. So (A) what’s the rush? and (B) what’s the worry?
As I said a few days earlier, we are indestructible. Yet, while immersed in love, we dream nightmares. There’s nothing for it but, collectively, to awaken. The nightmares are not real. The love is.
Unique to this generation, we’re destined to awaken together. How will we awaken as a world?

(2) Steve: You mentioned the Holy Spirit in flesh, and that raises questions about your ministry. Do you consider that the word “avatar” [descent of the divine into flesh] applies to you and your ministry? Sri Ramakrishna says….
Jesus: Avatar is not a word that I particularly cherish. Let me put it that way.
S: All right.
J: There are those who wish to label me as an avatar. And I would accept that label, but I would not choose it. I would choose the label, or the description, of teacher. Sri Ramakrishna called Jesus an avatar.
Rev. Sannyal said: “How is it, sir, that you bow at the feet of Christ? What do you think of Him?”
Sri Ramakrishna: “Why, I look upon him as an Avatara.”
Rev. Sannyal: “Incarnation of God! Will you kindly explain what you mean by it? Is he one like Krishna and the others?”
Sri Ramakrishna: “Yes, exactly like that.” (Paramahansa Ramakrishna in Swami Prabhavananda, First Meetings with Sri Ramakrishna. Madras: Sri Ramakrishna Math, 1987, 106-7.)

(5) When the attitude hardens, such that only what can be seen, felt, touched, tasted, etc., is considered real, we call it empirical materialism. When I was in school, this paradigm dominated academia. No enlightenment, no eternal soul, no God. Sorry, Michael, back in the closet.

For future cross-cultural scholars, the Divine Mother is the One in the illusory world of individuality and separation. She is the creator, preserver, and transformer of life, Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva (the Trimurthy). She is rajas, sattwa, and thamas (the gunas) and Akar, Ukar, and Makar (Aum). But all of this is just a small part of her:
“When I have spoken about … Shakti, I have spoken about a part of me. … She is not the totality of my being. My being is bigger than you can fathom, dear one. So I do not simply mean that she is an aspect manifesting. But it is simply larger than any of you can imagine, particularly at this point.” (“The Divine Mother: Come to Me as I Come to You – Part 1/2,” Oct. 17, 2012 at http://goldenageofgaia.com/2012/10/the-divine-mother-come-to-me-as-i-come-to-you-part-12/.)
