One Soul's Observation of Life | Steven Graham

One Soul’s Observation of Life

by Steven Graham, C.Ht

We all appear to be in various stages of “remembering” as we continue to grow spiritually.

I believe that our reality here on earth is a shared “construct” of the matrix and is much like the programmable “Holodeck” on Star Trek. We have each chosen a “program” for our soul’s progression and growth here on earth, and some of those we share this construct with have chosen time and again to do so with us.

These are members of our “Soul Family” and share many of the same traits, level of advancement, desires and sense of adventure that we do. Our soul family has agreed to play an important role with us each time we incarnate for the purpose of both individual growth and of helping each other to grow and to learn specific lessons: Patience, unconditional love, gratitude, compassion, forgiveness, anger management, acceptance of diversity, etc. It has been and is, a cooperative effort of great benefit for all involved.

Each time we choose to inhabit a new earthly vessel we are born with “amnesia” as the ultimate test of growth, patience and persistence as we attempt (with divine guidance and grace) to find those we agreed to be with and “play our part” to our mutual benefit.

If we were born with full remembrance of our “soul contract” or life’s mission, the challenge would be greatly diminished. It would “spoil the play” and leave very little to creativity, diligence and effort on our part. As a result, it would not be much of a test but more of a carrying out of a growth assignment. Something would be lost. Shakespeare may have known more than most when he said, “All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players; They have their exits and their entrances…”

This is not to say that we absolutely must stick to the script and that no changes are allowed. We live in a "free will" universe and nothing is set in absolute stone for the duration of our time here in this life. We can deviate from the script and take a new course of action if the reason is compelling enough. Even some of the characters in our play, may come and go for a time, a season or for life. When one lesson is learned, we may even find that we are no longer in that one's company as the terms of the agreement have been fulfilled or even cancelled by one party or the other through "intent."

If there is someone in your life who always seems to know exactly how to “push your buttons” and causes you to feel anger, impatience, hostility or frustration, then maybe that person is here for the purpose of helping you to grow in a most uncomfortable and painful (but effective) way. That person may have agreed to “play that role” to help you become the sparkling diamond that you really are. You can thank them later during your “after-life review.”

In the meantime, being aware of this can help you to temper those feelings and reactions, and grow beyond the need to surrender to and express those emotions in a toxic way. Realizing that this is a "supreme test" of the soul meant for growth and advancement, this can help you to rise above and beyond the “button-pushing and reaction” paradigm that you seem to be caught up in.

Once this meaning is realized, accepted and understood, the lesson is more quickly accelerated and learned. Then this person no longer has any power over you: Mission accomplished. Learn the lesson and it’s over. Don’t, and it will repeat itself over and over again now or later in a different form with perhaps a different “player” until you do learn.

Life is about choices and consequences. Earth is a very difficult school of higher learning, and we are all strong or we would not even be here. There is great comfort in realizing this.

Those who believe in karma seem to have an edge. There is no "good" karma or "bad" karma anymore than there is good gravity or bad gravity, good lightning or bad lightning. Karma is a balancing force of the universe that rectifies all eventually. What goes around comes around, so nothing is ever lost or goes unaccounted for. We never need to take vengence since everyone will answer for everything and be held accountable in the most meaningful way. Karma is not about "payback" but about perfect balance and order.

"Justice and balance" is the hallmark of this universe we find ourselves in. If you know that what you do to another will eventually "boomerang" back to you, then how could you ever "wrong" another? You do so to yourself.

It is said that, "Bitterness is like drinking poison and waiting for your enemy to die." Bitterness harms only you, while forgiveness releases you from pain and from having to be tied to that individual for a future lesson not yet learned. Forgiveness frees both you and them to move on and be done with it. Forgiveness does not forget. Forgiveness releases.

Fortunately, we have all been given as much time as we need to learn, grow and advance; and to help each other along the way.

“We are all just walking each other home.” Ram Dass

You may have noticed that many who wish to accelerate their learning have already moved into different lifestyles. They have already released people, places and experiences that hold them in the 3D matrix. There is a great “letting go." You may feel that there is an inner guidance that is steering you. Maybe you have found your “mission statement” and the first clue is that you love doing what you do. It feels so right. You are happy, fulfilled and on track.

What is the common denominator of all that is?

We are all "divine sparks" of God having the same nature and desire to grow and return to that sea of unconditional love and acceptance that we all came from.

Quantum mechanics reveals much and Erwin Shrodinger, Quantum Theory Physicist who lived from 1887-1961 may have expressed it best in this quote: "The total number of minds in the universe is ONE. In fact, consciousness is a singularity phasing within all beings."

This is at the heart of "oneness" or “connectedness” and speaks to how we are all divine "sparks of God" each manifesting our individual perception; our vantage point of where we are right now along our collective path back to Source.

The greatest lesson we can learn in this life is threefold:

1- To express unconditional love to all. 2- To have compassion on all life. 3- To express gratitude for what we have and for what we have learned.

This will bring us the greatest joy, release, peace and sense of fulfillment that we could ever hope for.

A very wise greeting that is used in various parts of southeast Asia is Namaste. It is an ancient Indian Sanskrit word that means: "The God in me recognizes and acknowledges the God in you."

Namaste!

Be blessed. Be whole. Be in joy!
