No need to tell them. Might be better to imitate them
By Steve Beckow, July 18, 2020
Going deeper is the exact opposite of a meme war. A meme war promotes superficial thinking and a rush to judgment. I’m advocating increasing depth: Go deeper.
When I go deeper and look at the current situation, I see that the first thing that’s needed, in my opinion, is for us to lower the temperature worldwide and come back to the center.
Without that, nothing will succeed. (And we may not be ready to hear or do this yet, so inflamed are we.)
The second thing is that, according to me, fundamental change needs to happen in our society. There’s no returning to pre-2020 cultural and social paradigms.
I use the Six Point Plan to illustrate one possible new set of financial/economic arrangements for post-pandemic Nova Earth. I plan to fund as many Six Point Plans as I can through the Michaelangelo Fund.
I hope others create universal project plans of their own in this and other areas – and share them. Dream big! There are going to be several waves of abundance. The Reval is not the only one. (1)
Six Point Plan
One, universal basic income covering all normal living expenses for every person living in that country, lesser for young children (under twelve). Everyone has their basic expenses in life covered and can choose to work on top of that.
Two, universal medicare. Public health of excellent standards available to all people living in that country, without distinction. Free medicare, pharmacare, and dental care.
Three, universal accessibility to all levels of gender-equal education for all people living in that country.
Four, universal elder care, child care, and single-parent care.
Five, the elimination of personal debt.
Six, the elimination of the national debt. (2)
I expect these ideas to be refined, not to remain completely as they are. I welcome correction.
I hope we take all areas of human endeavor and recast them in a similarly-universal manner.
I see us needing to make, and perhaps ready to make, profound shifts in our society and profound changes in ourselves.
Never mind all the name-calling, I hope we’re ready as a society to address the underlying problems. Once and for all.
But going even deeper than that, somehow we need to get that what happens in the outside world reflects what’s happening inside. As within so without.
Viewed from this angle, the riots we’re witnessing, I assert, reflect our lack of caring for each other (and I include myself in the scope of this comment).
We have the power and ability to end world hunger tomorrow, but we don’t. Why not? When will we shoulder that responsibility? Where is our collective will? Non-existent? Why?
Why do we not care for and accept responsibility for each other, as a world? When do we make our compassion and caring universal? (3)
When do we make it a matter of pride that no one starved on planet Earth today? That no homeless people are to be found? That no one had to sell their home to afford medical treatment?
Never mind what we’ve been told. What do we want to see in our world?
No world leader that I’m aware of takes on global issues in a meaningful way. Many occupy themselves with sabre rattling. Distracting us, with wars, from oppression and inequality.
No nuclear bomb can be exploded on the planet and no war will be allowed, by order of the galactic forces surrounding us and keeping the peace. And you, our leaders, know it. Stop pretending, all of you. (4)
Going deeper still, what’s happening in our society, in my view, is a breakdown in the area of love. Very few of us seem to love anyone but ourselves in our society. Wow, did I really say that?
Not really we don’t. Not deeply. I know this may sound harsh and I apologize.
We’re about as far removed from each other these days as I can imagine.
We’ve been socially-distanced and isolated by the cellphone before we ever heard of a pandemic.
I’m surprised that some people are even noticeing the pandemic because they still have their cellphones, which they were on most of the time anyways.
I saw a man and woman at a restaurant both engrossed in their cellphones. Actually I’ve seen it a few times. Why get together?
But try telling people about the danger.
It reminds me of the early 1990s, when the computer was just switching from the blue DOS screen to Windows. At 4:00 every day, everyone signed off and began playing Tetris or its equivalent.
You couldn’t talk to anyone at the time about the impact of automation on work; people loved their computers! No one wanted to hear a negative word against them!
Well, today, people love their cellphones.
Then we lost jobs, professions, careers. Now we’re losing intimacy, relationship, and love.
Viewed from any angle, we show a lack of caring for each other. It’s the deepest break in our collective psyche that I’m aware of, providing I’m correct.
For me the longest road back from the pandemic and race riots is not the road to financial recovery; not the rebuilding that will have to go on; but the road to recovery of the desire to care for – and take care of – one another, globally, each and every one of us.
That’s my analysis of the current situation, as viewed from several depths of … what? Experience, research, and conjecture.

(3) Never mind talking about “universal” love. Love is by its very nature universal and cannot be otherwise. We need to make our compassion universal, our caring for our fellow beings.
(4) Tell the truth: The United States carrier fleet may have been obsolete for decades. A carrier can be taken out by a Russian Sizzler or Sunburn missile, viewed as unstoppable. The last time I looked, the armed forces of Russia, Iran, and China were equipped with them.
