What is the Collective Consciousness?

The environmental catastrophes in Australia and Indonesia, but in other parts of the world as well, have placed my attention on the collective consciousness for the moment.
If we’re to use it to effect a reversal of climatic effects, we need to know how it works. For the most part, that’ll mean looking at Matthew Ward’s messages since he looks most deeply into the phenomenon.
Matthew tells us that “the collective consciousness is the creative force of a civilization.” (1) It “manifests everything that exists on Earth.” (2)
What exactly is it? He tells us:
“The collective consciousness [is] that energy mass of countless thoughts, feelings and deeds that steers activity in Earth’s field of potential and determines what happens in your world.” (3)
“[It] … comprises the energy put forth not only by humans, but also every other life form on the planet.” (4)
Thought forms “are created by every being’s thoughts, feelings and actions, and collectively those determine a civilization’s density, or spiritual and conscious evolvement status.” (5)
Earth’s residents’ journeys, Matthew tells us, “depend upon the choices each makes, and the cumulative choices make up the collective consciousness.” (6)
The recalcitrants affect the collective consciousness as well as lightworkers. Their vibrations account for much of the violence in the world, Matthew says:
“That violence is still a fact of life in your world is related to the destiny of people who will not ascend with Earth. At this juncture, the collective consciousness includes the elements associated with the tentacles of darkness that still are lurking about the planet. Persons who refused to relinquish their ‘heavy’ roles that once were components of karmic balancing became captives of the darkness.” (7)
Our collective consciousness is not yet a pure stream of love.
It’s this collective consciousness that we’re attempting to influence and impact with our mass meditations.
