Reader Karen Hamilton, MD, says:
“There’s a lot going on now that is blowing people’s minds. Some of us sensitive types are having trouble tolerating the latest news and need to pull back some.
“Although I am aware of what is going on in the world, I find that I need to make an effort to immerse myself in activities that are uplifting and wholesome to stay balanced.
“I created the following video as a way to help cope with some of what is happening. I hope you enjoy it.”
Karen has had an interesting life. She says, of herself:
https://rocketscientistsdaughter.wordpress.com/about/
I was born in July, 1959 in southern California. My beginnings were marked by an incident that may or may not have had anything to do with the unfolding of the rest of my life. You see, my father was a budding rocket scientist, having married my mother the previous August. They were happily beginning their new life together when he began work at the Santa Susana Field Lab months before my arrival. All was as idyllic as it should have been with two parents who loved each other and were happy to be starting their family.
A nuclear accident occurred there during the time I was born, and I will always wonder if the leaking radiation ever made its way into my system. Could it explain why I later developed severe arthritis, or why I seemed to have a strange way of looking at the world, believing in the good in everyone I met while seemingly blind to their negative qualities? Most likely there is no connection, but I am a person who always wonders what could have caused certain negative events and how they could have been prevented.
Over the years, my desire to be of help to everyone I crossed paths with would lead me into many interesting situations, some wonderful, and others not so pleasant. I was to go on to attend Medical school and receive my MD; in my mind the ultimate best way to help others. My mother was instrumental in fostering an interest in natural ways of doing things, and when I left medical practice I focused on learning as much as I could about holistic healing and the mind-body-spirit connection.
This blog is an effort to use my experiences to discuss some of the complex problems that afflict us on planet earth and supply some solutions that have come to me or been shared with me by others.
Of note, I am just one of many children born to young Rocket Scientists who were being recruited to help the U.S. win the race to the moon that occurred in the 1960s. I hope this blog serves to help me connect to other daughters and sons of those who helped make history. Undoubtedly we are a force to be reckoned with!
