Pure consciousness is like the sky which is unchangeable throughout the passing clouds of thoughts. Pure awareness is like the desert that remains even after the desert’s mirage (ego) has vanished. Since everyone has their own sense of individuality (eg0) but the same underlying reality (pure awareness), we are all essentially one and the same. Besides, there are no variations in pure awareness. It just is…
All it takes is to shift your attention from the constantly changing world to the unchangeable reality, pure awareness, every time a thought arises. Whatever you give your attention to for prolonged periods of time energizes it, resulting in its expansion, growth, and eventual manifestation. As Lord Buddha said, “the mind is everything. What you think you become”. Therefore, if your thoughts dwell on lust, anger, greed, depression, sadness, loneliness, you energize those thought-forms, they expand and growth, and eventually lead to their manifestation via a corresponding action or emotion on a physical level. Therefore, don’t give away your attention (energy) to such transient thoughts. It leads to separation and only in separation from all there is can you become lustful, angry, greedy, depressed, sad, and lonely. However, if for long periods of time, one’s attention is placed on your Pure Awareness/Unconditional Love which is beyond the mind, it no longer remains in the background, but rather, shows itself in all its glory in its thoughtless, blissful, and peaceful state. It is just like one signaling a person who is in line along with other people and doesn’t like being the center of attention, to step out of the line. Previously, the person (Pure Awareness/Unconditional Love) was not given attention to and hence, remained in the background but through attention to it, the person suddenly shows himself for all to see. However, if attention to the person has been lost once again, the person reverts to the background where it came from. Therefore, put your attention on your awareness even when walking, talking, eating, working, smelling, hearing, writing, dancing, and using the computer. This is what it means to have SELF-Love and practice Self-Enquiry: no matter what you are doing, your attention is on Pure Awareness. When this has been made permanent and effortless, it is sahaja samadhi. In such a state, you have become one with God (Pure Awareness/Unconditional Love). Though everything may seem to be moving on a superficial level, nothing is actually moving or even happening. Something can only move or happen if you are separate from that which is moving or happening but you, as Pure Awareness/Unconditional Love, are the unchanging, infinite, and unlimited substratum that is the ALL. The ALL is always in divine union and no separation has ever existed nor will it ever exist.
It is quite possible to do all sorts of actions and not have a single thought. Can you imagine hearing someone speaking and having to mentally repeat each word they have spoken to understand what they are saying? And can you imagine having to mentally repeat each word you are going to say to answer back to the person? Thankfully, that is not the case. You can spontaneously answer back. Spontaneity is the way life operates. When you make plans, that indicates you have the expectation that life will operate the way you intended to be. Isn’t that constraining life to follow your demands? Having expectations is indicative of the belief of one being in separation with all there is. With expectations comes imminent disappointment. That is not allowing life to express itself however it wants to do so. And what happens when you intend something, and it doesn’t manifest, you suffer and doubt if the Divine and God are even real. Well, the Divine and God are just as real as you are for you are one and same with the Divine and God. Only when you identify solely as the body and not as the entirety of creation do you come from place of powerlessness and feel as if God or the Divine is superior, and you are inferior. When in fact, there is no superior or inferior, there is only that ONE Pure Awareness/Unconditional Love which is all there is and will ever be. You were never forsaken for how you can forsake yourself which is all there is, has been, and will ever be. What is there to be attached to when its all YOU.
As, Pure Awareness/Unconditional Love, we can do all sorts of things while remaining centered on our true being: stillness itself. In that way, you will go with the flow of life instead of being against the flow. When you follow the path of no resistance, that is surrender to life and surrender to life is surrender to Pure Awareness/Unconditional Love for they are one and the same. Only when there is no resistance in you against life will life offer no resistance against you. Then you will realize that the belief that one has to "work hard" to attain something was simply you working hard against the flow of life, hence the intense resistance that you were met with. Keep this in your heart: just because you want to manifest something doesn't mean that is what life wants to manifest for you. Let life do the manifesting. You just remain in the Heart of your Awareness. Life will then flow so smoothly, elegantly, and gracefully.
When you are like the light bulb with the most resistance to the flow of electricity (life), its light is the dimmest as well as the one with the most heat. That dullness and heat being representative of suffering which is caused by resistance to the flow of life.
Be like the light bulb with the least resistance to the flow of electricity (life): not only is it the one with the least heat but it lights up the brightest. This does not mean saying yes to everything. It means following your intuition as you abide as Unconditional Love.
