An Anointment – A Cross-Cultural Experience

On Sunday last, the New Moon of 9/9/18(9), I was blessed to participate in a Baptism led by my dear friend Rev. Lynda Humphrey-Seales. This came just over one year after myjourney in spirit where I participated in the African Spiritual Baptist tradition of mourning.
Once more, I was guided by Spirit (my term for the non-physical Ascended Masters, Angels, etc.) over an interesting sequence of events that led to me being a participant in this most sacred ritual. I share this with you now because (1) it is just one example of how the various religions are going to become increasingly collaborative, focusing on the same core Truths of Divine Love and Unity; and (2) I think it is an important part of my own journey of Ascension, which might be reflected in your own experiences.
This particular series of events started last month at the Lion’s Gate portal, 8/8/18. I was given a gift certificate for a pedicure several months earlier for my birthday, and never got around to using it. It so happened that I got the appointment on that sacred day.
During the pedicure Spirit came clearly to me and said the day was deliberately chosen to honour my past service, the path I had walked, and to prepare me for a new path, or level of service. The Lion’s Gate of 8/8 marks the start of the Galactic New Year. It was therefore more than just a simple pedicure. It was meant to be a ritual washing of the feet.
The next week was followed by a similar experience where again Spirit gave the message to let go of the past with gratitude.
The following week I had some intense body aches and pains and decided to book a massage with my therapist. I am blessed in that I have always been able to attract to me very spiritual people. Margaret, my therapist, is one such. After spending several years in a Catholic convent and having very spiritual experiences, Margaret is quite open to the nudgings of Spirit and considers the Hindu Deity, Ganesh to be her personal friend and guide.
Anyway, while performing my usual invocations to the Lighted Beings for their support and to work with/through Margaret, Spirit again came to me with a message. After honouring and letting go of my past I was now ready to step into the new. This was to be a massage with sacred oils, to be followed by a sacred bath, and an anointment into the new.
I had no idea what ‘sacred bath’ and ‘anointment’ meant but would find out just two days later. During a casual conversation on the phone, Lynda just happened to mention that she would be doing two baptisms on Sunday. I immediately knew that I needed to be there. I didn’t know for what purpose, and said as much to Lynda who laughingly agreed to let me tag along. Later, she said that she had a vision of me being there at the baptism a few days earlier, which quite surprised her at the time.
On the day itself all of us gathered at the sea shore where the ceremony would take place. Lynda then advised us that it would not be a traditional Spiritual Baptist ceremony, not the least of which was due to women being barred from doing the actual Baptisms in the traditional church. Nevertheless, much of the ceremony remained the same, and certainly the essence of the ceremony was preserved. This was yet another powerful aspect of the whole Ascension process- the reclaiming of power and Divine Authority by the Sacred Feminine.
It was a powerful ceremony, one that was marked by several remarkable occurrences. Throughout the ceremony I was struck by the great similarities between the Vedic rituals and the Spiritual Baptist rituals. Indeed, it seemed to me the only differences were aesthetic.
Shortly after commencement I saw emerging out of the water and standing some distance away from the shore, two etheric Beings. One was Master Jesus, the other was a female figure, whom I took to be either Mother Mary or the Lady of the Sea.
Amazingly, though I was the only one present to see the apparitions, Lynda’s daughter and a couple of other people said afterward that they noticed a patch of the sea behaving rather strangely just to the back of where the baptisms were taking place. The ripples in that area seemed to indicate the presence of something in the water. It was at the same spot where I saw the two figures standing on the water.
At some point during the ceremony Lynda invited me to offer a traditional Sanskrit prayer for the two candidates. I did so, and also blew my traditional Sankha (conch shell) which produced a clear and powerful note that resonated around the area.
Sometime afterwards a white etheric dove descended from the sky to alight on the tree just behind us. After the ceremony Lynda told me that when she spoke to her gifted sister, Cynthia, about her plans for the ceremony the day before, Cynthia immediately went into a brief trance and said she saw a white dove descend into the area. I did not know of this beforehand so it was an amazing confirmation.
After blindfolding the candidates with specially prepared bands, Lynda took me by the hand and together we went into the water to bless the spot where the baptisms would take place. I added my own Sanskrit prayers along with her’s, invoking Varun, the Deity of the Sea, to the spot so that it may be sanctified.
Yet another remarkable event took place at this time unknown to Lynda and I. Everyone else who was at the shore said afterward that while we were in the water there appeared a placid pool of water around us. None of the usual wave ripples born from the wind entered into the spot where we had consecrated and were standing in. The only ripples in that spot came from us as were moved in the water, and these rippled out of the circular pool that we had created. It was apparently a brazenly obvious sight that stood as visible testimony to the sanctity of the waters at that location.
After the two candidates had been baptised and led out of the water, Lynda came back to me in the water and we both offered a simple thanksgiving prayer. We then submerged ourselves in the water three times.
It was done. My sacred bath, done in consecrated waters.
Finished with the first part of the ceremony, we then left the area and went to another location to do the anointing of the candidates. Psalm 45 from the Bible was read for the anointing. I was struck by how similar it read to that given in the Hindu scriptures regarding the advent of the Kalki Avatar of God.
3 Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O most mighty, with thy glory and thy majesty.
4 And in thy majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.
5 Thine arrows are sharp in the heart of the king’s enemies; whereby the people fall under thee.
6 Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.
– Psalm 45, KJV
“Thus, when the Kali (dark age) will have its full play, the whole world will be filled with Mlechchas (evil men), the trees will be one hand high and the men will be of the size of a thumb. Then the most powerful (Lord), Bhagavân Nârâyana will incarnate in His part in the house of a Brâhmin named Visnujas’â as his son. Mounted on a long horse, holding a long sword He will make the world free of the Mlechchas in three nights. “
– Srimad Devi Bhagavata Purana
Indeed, the sword of the Kalki Avatar is the sword of Truth, Meekness and Righteousness. Even as the second coming of the Christ is said by some to be the awakening of the Christ Consciousness within the hearts of men, so too it is my belief that the Kalki Avatar is the awakening of the Truth of Self-as-God, or the Krishna Consciousness within the hearts of men.
After anointing the candidates, Lynda surprised me by anointing me also. Referring specifically to the third line of Psalm 45, she referenced directly the Divine Dagger I had been given during my astral travels while mourning. She then began channeling Spirit as she continued with my anointment. The energy was incredibly intense as she delivered Spirit’s message to me.
After the ceremony, we all sat and shared our thoughts and feelings. On the whole, it was an amazing experience for all of us who were present. It was a multi-religious, multi-cultural experience that highlighted the Unity of God in ALL BE-ings. I was blessed to be able to participate.
On a personal note, I believe the events that transpired are quite potent in meaning and implications. I await to see what lies ahead in gratitude for the opportunity to serve.
