(Golden Age of Gaia)
I had the occasion today to mention in a discussion that it’s in the sending of love, in the sharing of love that we get to experience it.
If I sit here idly thinking about wanting an ice cream cone, I won’t experience love. I’ll experience wanting an ice-cream cone.
The Bible says: I the Lord am a jealous God. God = love, no? Love is a jealous god. If you’re thinking of something else, it won’t disturb you. It’ll go away.
It will only come to you as long as you attend to it – and not a minute longer.
But if I sit here, drawing love up from my heart and sending it out to the world, then I get to experience that love. I experience it as it passes through me.
Moreover – and I’ve said this about bliss, but it’s equally true about love – we experience little wisps of love and just feel them and release them on their way. We never think that they could be like surfboards that we can ride in our imagination to the Mother Wave.
Once we’ve been able to spend some time in this love beyond words, we come to see how other ways it works. It flows freely and endlessly on the other side of the heart door or hridayam. That river of love that flows inside our hearts leads to an Ocean of Love. (1)
By one means or another, our heart doors are fated to open. When the kundalini reaches our fourth chakras – say, by a Ring of Fire/Wave of Love? – (2) we’ll all be immersed in a life-changing, all-satisfying river of love.
This is the real baptism in the River Jordan. This is the life-transforming event which begins our real journey.
This love, this Self is the treasure found buried in a field. The man wasted no time in burying it again, selling all he had, and buying that field.
If we saw the Self in all its splendor – and my sight of it was toned down – or felt the love that flows in our hearts, I believe that we’d sell all we have as well to finish the job. (Unless we’re a lightworker.)
In the meantime as long as the divine wellspring flows and the heart door remains open, I predict we’ll have everything we ever wanted. The love that flows there is all-satisfying.
And if we take it slow and gradual, we may even be able keep serving at the same time as enjoying the bounty of love.
