I looked at the dotted line.
This is where I signed my name.
I looked to the left of the line.
It read ‘Unconditional Love’.
There it was.
Written in higher self devotion, My soul contract, in which I agreed to experience, practice and be of unconditional love.
Really?
Was I delusional?
Did I realize the betrayal, deceit and lies that permeate this world?
There are so many unspeakable crimes that are hard to imagine being in and having unconditional love.
How does one begin to practice forgiveness and compassion in this demanding environment?
And that may be the easy part.
In a hardened state of emotion, Strangers are expendable. It may be easier to grant them pardons or throw them under the bus with little attachment.
Justification without consequence
What if the betrayal is by someone close to you?
Unlike strangers where we can just walk away, the occasional action or subtle comments by loved ones can cut like a knife. Intentional or unintentional, it still hurts.
And if that act was so hurtful it triggers core issues that fill us with pain or anguish?
Do we recognize the catalyst and do the inner work? Or do we lash out wondering how they could be so rude?
Do we ever remember our soul contract with that person? Is this a test?
How does one remember what our soul contract is?
I look again next to my signature.
Unconditional Love
The situation called for my remembering.
This was achieved by a clarifying meditation.
Jilted twice this week, I asked for perspective.
This is the answer I got in a Q and A with myself.
A. Unconditional LOVE
Q. What does that even mean?
A. It’s in the name. Love, unconditionally. without exception or regardless of the conditions, actions or comments. To continue putting love above all else including other feelings, actions or thoughts. Letting go of attachments to outcome. Surrender. Allow. Love.
Q. Easy to say
A. Tall order
Q. Now how does one do this?
A. By remembering
Q. Does this mean that I experience unconditional love all the time?
A. No, I think that is high energy and can lead to immediate burn out.
Q. Would it mean practicing Unconditional love with everyone?
A. No, I think it would mean only for those that you have a soul contract with.
Q. Who would you have a soul contract with?
A. Everyone you meet. There would be varying degrees of agreement.
Yeah, no matter how brief an encounter there is potentially a soul contract there.
If the universe were to have an insurance policy I think this would be it.
Just act like you have a contract however large or small with anyone you meet.
And if your soul contract were to experience, practice and be unconditional love ,what a blessing everyone around you would be receiving.
I question authority even when it’s myself. These are the comments that surfaced.
How unfair is it to rob me of my opportunity for drama, anger, self pity!?!
Damn it. I really wanted to be pissy today.
Situation Earth would really understand if I didn’t honor my contract just this once.
A. Yeah, that’s the catch. Catch and release.
Forget my soul contract ! Forget Love.!
What’s in it for me?
Who is that tugging at my brain? Kicking me in the gut? Does it hurt ? Can you feel it? Lash out. You can do it !
A. Yeah. I can feel it.
Here’s the thing.
I can remember why I am here.
Not this time demons.
Try again later if you dare.
I got this.
That’s what’s in it for me.
Love triage. Love trans-mission. Love infusion.
You see, even when triggered, I love myself unconditionally.
And by Me, I mean you.
Unconditionally
All y’all
