An End to Resentment (Part 2/2) | Steve Beckow

An End to Resentment – Part 2/2

Hippopotamus

(Concluded from Part 1, yesterday.)

To reach the point of forgiving everyone and everything, I have two lines of action that I could take.

One is to look at releasing all resentment. And the other is to go deeper into what forgiveness is, until I have an experience or a realization.

Let’s start with resentment.

Holding on to resentments is keeping me lumbering about. Here’s how Jesus describes the cost:

“Refusing to forgive, holding on to resentment and a desire for restitution, drains your individual energy fields, builds a fortress of defenses around you through which your essential needs are unable to approach you, because you are closing yourselves off from Love, the Source of life. …

“Deep within yourselves you do know that resentment and a desire to see others punished for the pain and suffering you believe that they have caused you only intensifies your own suffering.” (1)

As a consequence, I’m lumbering about alongside a gazelle who’s bounding about – and having fun at it. “Hey, I want what she’s having.”

Speaking generically, I can take a stand and release all resentment in my various fields immediately. Interestingly, Saul asserts that to release all resentment does not require us to go through and identify each situation we don’t forgive:

“Do not expend time and ‘intellectual’ energy attempting to uncover the situations or issues that may be the cause, because mostly they are from previous lives. All you need to do is let the emotions flow while you watch them, accept them; and then offer love and compassion to yourselves. Nothing else is necessary.

“Seeking and identifying causes is a distraction that can seriously mislead you, and might lead you into judgment and resentment, which are at best very unhelpful, and at worst may even be damaging for you. As we keep telling you, the answer to ‘every’ issue or problem is Love; and Love includes compassion, forgiveness, and acceptance.” (3)

Any resentments bearing yesterday’s date or earlier are hereby declared “repaid in full.” I declare them null and void, for my own sake.

That doesn’t mean I’ll become anyone’s doormat. I just renounce the use of resentment.

By order of Me.

I find that, with no resentment, I have no remembrance of anything to forgive.

I’ve seen the price I pay for resentment. I don’t want to pay it any more.

And I like the thought of a transformational and paradigmatic breakthrough. I’ve missed “working out.”

No wonder I couldn’t do this every other time I tried. I always tackled forgiveness when I should have been renouncing resentment.

Now all I need to do is not resent people in the future and not give people cause to resent me – not perpetrate and not manipulate. Break the cycle.

My manipulation toolbox needs to go – all the stratagems of being my kind of controlling, Third-Dimensional human being need to be released.

If a hippopotamus can dance like a gazelle, hey, anything is possible.

“What apparently happened to cause you pain and suffering did not really happen. You are seemingly ensnared in a reality of betrayal and distrust, an unreal system of beliefs, and in the concomitant suffering that result from those beliefs.” (Saul via John Smallman, Nov.18, 2014 at http://johnsmallman.wordpress.com/2014/11/18/let-go-of-any-sense-of-guilt-or-shame.)
