Living in the Heart of Awareness – Part 1/3

By Steve Beckow
While we’re waiting for the Reval, my attention has turned for the moment to matters relating to Ascension.
Just for fun and to see whether the experience at Xenia expanded my ability to interpret, I turned to Thomas Byrom’s The Heart of Awareness. A Translation of the Ashtavakra Gita, one of my favorite texts. I chose a passage from the first page.
Ashtavakra is quoted as saying:
If you wish to be free,
Know you are the Self,
The witness of all these,
The heart of awareness. (1)
Yes, yes, yes.
If you wish to be free,
What does Ashtavakra mean by “free”? Well, we know true freedom is Sahaja Samadhi. Here’s Sri Ramana Maharshi on the matter:
“Sahaja Nirvikalpa [Samadhi] is permanent and in it lies liberation from rebirths.” (2)
Liberation from rebirth is freedom. Both occur upon Sahaja or our Ascension.
Here’s the Mother confirming that Sahaja is Ascension:
Steve Beckow: I’m trying to understand what level of enlightenment Ascension corresponds to. And I think it’s beyond the normal seventh-chakra enlightenment. I think it is what is called — and I’ll make this clear to readers — sahaja samadhi. Am I correct?
Divine Mother: Yes, it is beyond what you think of with your seven chakras. … We have emerged from the Third-Dimensional realm, which is that reference point for the chakra system, into the new. So yes, you are correct, in this question and in this statement. (3)
If we were to stay within the seven-chakra system, used at the time of Ramana, then Brahmajnana or God Realization, which is seventh-chakra enlightenment might be considered by many to be “full and complete enlightenment,” also called “liberation.”
But we find, according to the Mother, that the seven-chakra system is itself only temporary. If we continue to pursue our ideal, then we now pass beyond Brahmajnana, at which point the heart opens fully and permanently. This is Sahaja, Ascension, and liberation.
This happens some subplanes into the Fifth Dimension, as the Mother affirms:
Steve: When does Sahaja Samadhi occur?
Divine Mother: It occurs with a more gradual awakening and lifting up. So there is the abrupt “I am not the same,” then there is the working and the anchoring, the integration, then there is another jump, and another jump, and another jump. … And then you will be there.
SB: Now, are those jumps equivalent to sub-planes?
DM: You can think of them as sub-planes, dimensional sub-planes, yes. (4)
I haven’t gone beyond the first line and already I’ve said enough for one day.
If you’d allow me, I’d like to continue tomorrow.
